Azulfidine is indicated:
INSTRUCTIONS
Use Azulfidine as directed by your doctor. Check the label for the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
Take Azulfidine by mouth after meals.
Take Azulfidine having a full glass of water (8 oz/240 mL).
Drinking extra fluids while you are taking Azulfidine is usually recommended. Check with your physician for instructions.
Space your doses evenly within the hours you are awake. If possible, do not space your doses more than 8 hours apart.
Take Azulfidine on a regular schedule to find the most take advantage of it.
Continue to take Azulfidine although you may feel well. Do not miss any doses.
If you miss a dose of Azulfidine, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses immediately.

Initial Therapy
Adults: three to four g daily in evenly divided doses with dosage intervals not exceeding eight hours. It could possibly be preferable to initiate therapy which has a lower dosage, e.g., 1 to 2 g daily, to relieve possible gastrointestinal intolerance. If daily doses exceeding 4 g are required to achieve the desired therapeutic effect, the improved probability of toxicity needs to be noted.
Children, six yrs . old and older: 40 to 60 mg/kg of body mass in each 24-hour period, split up into 3-6 doses.
STORAGE
Store Azulfidine at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Brief storage at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. Keep Azulfidine out with the reach of children and away from pets.

Severe allergy symptoms (rash; hives; itching; breathlessness; tightness inside the chest; swelling with the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); bloody diarrhea; bluish discoloration from the skin or nails; chest pain; dark urine; decreased urination; fever, chills, or sore throat; hearing loss; mental or mood changes; muscle pain; numbness or tingling inside fingers or toes; pale stools; persistent loss of appetite; pinpoint bruises; red, swollen, peeling, or blistered skin; seizures; severe or persistent dizziness, drowsiness, headache, or sleep disorders; severe or persistent stomach pain; difficulty breathing; trouble walking; unusual bruising or bleeding; unusual tiredness or weakness; unusually pale skin; yellowing with the eyes; yellowing in the skin in addition to dark urine, pale stools, or persistent loss in appetite.
